Watercress, also known as nasturtium officinale, contains chemical glycosides (glucose isothiocyanates), vitamins (vitamins A, C, and D), and volatile oils (mainly composed of terpenoids).

The 50% ethanol and water extract of watercress has anti-aggregation effect on platelets, and the extracts extracted with different solvents have different anticoagulant activities and anticoagulant modes.
