Hesperidin Powder Extract Instruction
◆ Hesperidin is a bioflavonoid, a type of plant pigment with antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects found primarily in unripe citrus fruit. Oranges, grapefruit, lemon, and tangerines contain hesperidin, and it is also available in supplement form. As a flavanone glycoside (flavonoid) found in citrus fruits, its aglycone form is called hesperetin.
◆ Hesperidin is believed to play a role in plant defense. It acts as an antioxidant according to vitro studies. In human nutrition, it contributes to the integrity of the blood vessel.
◆ Various of preliminary studies reveal novel pharmaceutical properties. Hesperidin reduced cholesterol and blood pressure in rats. In a mouse study large doses of the glucoside hesperidin decreased bone density loss. Another animal study showed protective effects against sepsis. Hesperidin has anti-inflammatory effects.

Hesperidin Powder Extract Benefits
◆ Hesperidin has antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, hypolipidemic, vasoprotective and anticarcinogenic and cholesterol lowering actions. Hesperidin can inhibit following enzymes: phospholipase A2, lipoxygenase, HMG-CoA reductase and cyclo-oxygenase.
◆ Citrus extract hesperidin improves the health of capillaries by reducing the capillary permeability.
◆ Citrus peel extract hesperidin is used to reduce hay fever and other allergic conditions by inhibiting the release of histamine from mast cells. The possible anti-cancer activity of hesperidin could be explained by the inhibition of polyamine synthesis.
◆ A study of hesperidin, a citrus flavonoids, inhibits bone loss and decreases serum and hepatic lipids in ovariectomized mice' by Hiroshige Chiba et al (J. Nutrition, June 2003) showed that hesperidin added to the died not only lowered serum and hepatic cholesterol, but also inhibited bone loss by decreasing osteoclast number in ovariectomized mice. The molecular mechanism of the inhibitory effect of hesperidin on bone resorption is not clear.
◆ As a dietary supplement designed to support calorie burning (thermogenesis) and resulting weight loss.
◆ It also helps to clean the blood and has been reported to dissolve kidney stones.
The following doses have been studied in scientific research:
◆ For the treatment of hemorrhoids inside the anus: 150 mg of hesperidin plus 1350 mg of diosmin twice daily for 4 days, followed by 100 mg of hesperidin and 900 mg of diosmin twice daily for 3 days.
◆ For preventing the return of hemorrhoids inside the anus: 50 mg of Hesperidin Powder Extract plus 450 mg of diosmin twice daily for 3 months.
◆ For the treatment of leg ulcers caused by poor blood circulation (venous stasis ulcers): a combination of 100 mg of hesperidin and 900 mg of diosmin daily for up to 2 months.
